The only downside to emulation on the PSP is the fact that the system uses its own custom memory card in the Memory Stick which means memory can fill up quickly once you factor in PSP and PS1 games, alongside larger roms such as Sega CD games. I wanted a handheld games system that was really powerful, and having it be my phone also means I'll always have it with me, and I'm really happy with what I ended up with. You'd think that with those flashy gaming phones, they'd include physical controls instead of shitty touchscreen controls, but nope. I wanted to get a phone with a slide-out gamepad like the old Xperia Play or a PSP Go, but sadly those phones don't exist nowadays. It also includes a MicroSD slot, which is a must if you're planning on throwing a lot of ROMs on your phone, dual SIM trays (I don't need it but it could come in handy if I go out of country), and a headphone jack. I've actually recently been looking into getting a new phone, I found a really nice Xiaomi phone for $250 that's powerful enough to run 3DS games fullspeed using Citra, as well as GameCube/Wii, Dreamcast, Sega Saturn, and PSP (and of course the systems that any phone could emulate such as N64 and PS1, NES, SNES, Game Boy/Color/Advance, etc).

It is something you'd want a d-pad for during those shooting segments but I'm planning on getting a Bluetooth controller for my phone anyway. I love my PSP, it a competent emualtion device and I still have it to this day but there is no question that a Vita absolutely crushes it in terms of functionality and utility. GBA is also way better too and performance is far improved over gpSP Kai on PSP.įor N64, you can run the PSP version of Daedalus圆4 but there is also a native Vita port and it can run significantly more games than the PSP version with better performance plus it supports overlays, shaders, multiple rendering options, bilinear filter and MSAA. Features wise and performance wise its blows PSP out of the water.

Vita Retorarch runs all SNES games full speed and offers features such as rewinding, overlays, pixel accurate rendering, hotkeys, undo save save states and a ton more. SuperFX games really tank on the PSP SNES emulators and some games like Star Ocean won't even boot.
They are the same but Vita Retorarch is a whole other level, especially for SNES. If you are speaking in terms of running the PSP emulators in Adrenaline for SNES, Sega CD and Daedalus圆4,etc then yes you are right. This subreddit is not for selling, try /r/GameSale. * people for all sample code (cooleyes for libaudiocodec one).Welcome to /r/PSP, a place to talk about everything PSP and PSPgo. * fDave for the original PicoDrive, and Stef again for releasing Gens source, something to base my work on. * NJ for CZ80 (which was also based on Stef’s code). * Chui for FAME/C (which is based on C68K by Stéphane Dallongeville, Gens fame) Be sure to check the readme for details.įinally, I feel I need to give credits several people whose code I used for this release: Note that this emu may need some option tweaking to get certain games working. This emulator uses hardware MP3 decoding via audiocodec library in PSP. However there are some CD games which won’t run too well (although situation can be improved by tweaking some options). There is nothing fancy about this emulator (no dynarecs/asm cores), but it’s still able to run many Genesis games fullspeed with no frameskip (including some CD ones), and others with some skipping. Well I don’t really like how it performs (it still needs a bit more work), but I’ve decided to move to another project, so I thought I better release it as is, then keep it around untouched for months. There seemed to be some demand for Sega CD/Mega CD emulator for PSP, so after doing the Gizmondo port I decided to port PicoDrive, my Genesis/MegaDrive/Sega CD/Mega CD emulator, to PSP. Notaz has been working on a port of PicoDrive to the PSP, which is finally out to the public.
